　　amaze（v.）使吃惊。 amazement（n.）不可数，惊异，诧异
　　amazing 与amazed 都是形容词，区别是：
　　amazing 令人惊异的，amazed感到惊异的
　　e.g.： I was amazed to find that he had got 100 marks.由于他拿到100分，所以我感到吃惊。
　　The news was amazing.
　9. Shakuntala‘s brain took fifty seconds to find the answer.
　　＝It took Shakuntala‘s brain fifty seconds to find the answer.
　　＝Shakuntala spent fifty seconds to find the answer with her brain.
　　cost， spend， pay， take 都有：花费的意思，但用法不同。
　　cost 用于金钱，时间，主语是物，宾语是人
　　spend 用于金钱，时间，主语是人，后加介词on，in
　　pay 用于金钱，主语是人，后加for
　　take 用于时间，主语通常是物，后可加不定式，用it作形式主语。
