Unit 1   How do you study for a test ?
 
I. Teaching aims and teaching demands:
In this unit students learn to talk about how to study.
II. Teaching key and difficult points:  
A.     Vocabulary 
flashcard , take notes, frustrating, memorize, aloud, comma, make mistakes, pronunciation, be afraid to, improve , forget, language, conversation, learn, look up, not at all , end up, realize, later on, laugh at, secret, make up, regard, soldier, try one’s best , easily, What about…? Why don’t you…?
B. Target language
How do you study for tests?
Well, I study by working with my classmates.
Have you ever studied with a group ?
Yes, I have. I’ve learned a lot that way.
I don’t have a partner to practice English with.
Maybe you should join an English club.

by working with friends, by making flashcards, by reading the textbook, by making vocabulary lists, by listening to tapes, by asking the teacher for help
by watching English-language videos, Practice conversations with friends,

What about listening to tapes?
What about reading aloud to practice pronunciation?
How  do you study for a test?
I study by working with a group.

V. Teaching procedure
Activity 1. Warming up
1. A:How do you study English?
  B:I read English aloud every morning.
  A:I make conversations with my classmates.
  I read English novels/watch English movies.
Repeat the phrases.
2.Ask Ss how they usually study for a test.Make a list of their answers on the Bb.Read the list to the class and ask the students to raise their hands to show which things they usually do when they study for a test.
Activity 2.Vocabulary
Task 1. Read the instructions to the class.
Task 2. Read the list of ways of studying to the class.
by working with friends, by making flashcards, by reading the textbook, by making vocabulary lists, by listening to tapes, by asking the teacher for help
by watching English-language videos, Practice conversations with friends, 
Task 3. Ask the students to check the ways they usually study for an English test. Then read the list to the class. Discuss which are the most poplular and least popular ways of studying.
