(The 3rd period 3a-4)
Teaching steps:
1. Warming-up and revision
1) Daily greetings.
  Good morning/afternoon.
  How are you?
  How is the weather? Etc.
2) play a guessing game.
  T: What’s this in English?
  S: It’s …./ I don’t know. I think it’s….
  T: Do you have …?
    Do you like…?
    Is this your …?
    Let’s ….
 
2. Work on 3a
Get the students to finish 3a by themselves first.
Check the answers.
Then practice the conversation in pairs.
 
3. Pairwork. Work on 3b
Get the students to use their own information to practice the questions and answers in 3a.
Then ask some pairs to demonstrate their conversations.
 
4. Complete the conversation
A: Hello, what’s your name?
A.     My name is Nick.
B.      I don’t like volleyball.
C.      Yes, I do.
D.     Do you have a basketball?
E.      That sounds exciting.
F.      It’s 534-7620.
B: _____________________
A: Do you like our school?
B: ___________________
A: What’s your phone number?
B: _________________
A: Thanks. ______________
B: Sorry. I don’t have a basketball.
A: Let’s play volleyball.
B: ___________. It’s boring.
A: Then let’s play computer games.

5. Pairwork. Work on 4. 
T asks some questions about the picture on P39 4 to help.
T: Look at the picture on 4.
  Where is the computer

 game?
  Does the girl have a backpack?
  Where is the book?
  Does Joe have a hat?
Then students work in pairs to find the differences between this picture and the picture on P83 by asking questions like these.
After they have finished, get some students to tell the differences like this:
The cat is on the chair in Picture 1, but it’s under the chair in Picture 2….
 
6. Talk about the pictures
Get the students to describe one of the pictures to form a short passage. The others tell which picture he is talking about after he has finished.
